Designed at a similar level to Class 1 Obedience, the aim of our Good Dog Scheme Bronze Award is for you to have a happy, well controlled dog both in the home and in the outside world. You and your dog should be able to carry out a series of exercises that will test both of you. It is designed to test your handling skills, while ensuring your dog is relaxed and happy, with the capacity to understand and follow instructions. All of the relevant skills and exercises will be covered in the classes and should be practised at home and when out and about, in order to pass the assessment at the end of the course.
What will happen when I am tested?
The Good Dog Scheme Bronze Award assessment will be held within your own class group, at the end of the course. It will involve some individual and some group exercises, all of which you will be familiar with from your previous lessons. Successful completion of the assessment will gain you a rosette and a certificate, with certificates of participation presented to those who might need a little more practice.
What does the course consist of?
Course content will include:
Identification and Equipment
Walking on the Lead
Control Through a Gate
Walking with Distractions
Staying on the Lead
Healthchecks
Recall from Play
Dog Law, Responsibility and Care
These workshops are offered on an occasional basis. We will provide a link here when they are open for booking.
